Back 4 Blood delayed until October

Back 4 Blood, the spiritual follow-up to Left 4 Dead from series creator Turtle Rock Studios, has been delayed until Oct. 12. The company announced the delay on Thursday with a short statement on Twitter.

Back 4 Blood was originally scheduled to come out on June 22, but according to Turtle Rock, the developers need more time to get the game to where they’d like it. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait all the way until the fall to try the game’s zombie action. In the same statement, Turtle Rock also announced that it plans to release an open beta for Back 4 Blood sometime this summer.

Back 4 Blood was first announced during The Game Awards 2020 with an impressive trailer that was full of zombie-shooting action. The game will feature a four-player co-op campaign, as well as an eight-player multiplayer mode, similar to Left 4 Dead. While the two games may look and seem pretty similar, Back 4 Blood is not an official sequel to Left 4 Dead, as Valve still owns the rights to the franchise.

Back 4 Blood is set to come to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
